Healthy Schools

We have a thriving healthy schools committee, including representatives of the kitchen staff (Pabulum), teaching staff, extended schools officer, parents, governors and pre-school. Our aim is to improve or maintain the standard of health of all children in our school, through understanding of a good diet and knowledge and awareness of food and nutrition, as well as the importance of regular exercise and relaxation.

We are working to improve the dining experience. Recent developments include removing flight trays for the older children and replacing them with plates and bowls; providing a new trolley to help children when they are clearing their trays and inviting the local residents half termly to share a community meal.

We also organise an annual health based week with topics, concentrating on diet, exercise or personal health, which the whole school works on together.
